Current Affairs

On this page we will try to answer your most frequent questions and inform you as well about the production process in our printing factory in Goor- The Netherlands.
One of the most repeating questions is about the difference between the shop in Amsterdam and our collection of Dutch chintzes with the same brand name: Den Haan & Wagenmakers.
Indeed rather confusing, but to keep a long and disappointing story short, we sold our shop activity in 2009 including the right to use our trade name for shop activities only: Den Haan & Wagenmakers BV.
However the production and the collection with the same trade name were not sold and remained our property: Den Haan & Wagenmakers Beheer BV,
In the beginning this was not a problem because the new owners continued selling our collection. But after some serious incidents concerning illegal copying of our collection caused by the new owners, we decided to stop delivering our collection.
To-day the shop in Amsterdam sells comparable cotton fabrics which are developed by Anbo Textiles – UK, in cooperation with the new owners of our former Amsterdam store, Petra Prins and Nel Kooiman.
Because there is a significant difference between our Dutch production and the look a like’s printed in Asia, our advise is to take care with precision when you decide to buy Dutch chintzes.
